Pricing? As a small business, this is a difficult question.  What do you charge for your skill, time, and product?  Often, “the market dictates your pricing.”  Yes, this is true, but I wanted to break it down into more relatable terms for the real estate world.

As of 2025, small businesses typically allocate around 7% to 10% of their annual revenue to marketing, according to most industry benchmarks. The median home sale price in Salt Lake City is estimated to be around $550,000 to $600,000, depending on various factors like neighborhood, property type, and current market conditions.  Digital marketing assets account for about 55% to 70% of total marketing budgets on average.  With these facts, we’ll use the low end for our example. 

 

A property listed for $550,000, the listing agent has the potential to earn 3%, or $16,500.  Considering the agent as a small business, they should be spending 7% of their revenue on marketing this property, or $1,155.  Of that $1,155, you should be spending 55% of that on your digital assets used in your marketing efforts.  So with a property listing of $550,000, you should be spending, at minimum, $635.25 on that property’s digital marketing assets.
